PORTLAND: 11-11 on the 11th
The Cascadia Freedom Caravan’s final send-off event, “11-11 on the 11th,” will be an all day fundraiser event with raffle prizes, rummage sale, art auction, live music and food this Friday, June 11 from 11 am- 11 pm @ 4810 NE Garfield. The bus will send over 30 social justice activists from the NW to Detroit for the Allied Media Conference and US Social Forum. The Cascadia Freedom Caravan is heading to Detroit on June 13 to participate in the Allied Media Conference and US Social Forum. The bus will take over 30 local, environmental, student, social justice and media activists on a three day journey of teach-ins in Missoula, MO, Fargo, ND and Milwaukee, WI, before arriving in Detroit. During their ten-day stay, the caravan members will share knowledge and resources with thousands of other participants in the largest social justice gathering in recent U.S. history before bringing back the skills and insight they’ve learned in Detroit to their own communities in the Northwest.
